“We are deeply saddened to announce that we will be closing our doors permanently in Canada effective February 16th,” read the post. “This decision was difficult, but necessary due to the evolving situation surrounding COVID-19. We thank you for your support over the years and hope you understand our reasons for making this decision.”

The news comes amid growing concerns about the spread of coronavirus across the globe. As of Friday morning, there are more than 2 million confirmed cases worldwide and nearly 200,000 deaths.

In response to the outbreak, many retailers have closed their physical stores and shifted online operations. Some companies, like Walmart and Target, have even shut down entirely.

Holiday Hours

Matt Ross Community Center will close earlier than usual during the holiday season. The center will close at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving day and remain closed until Jan. 2. During this period, the center will reopen at 10 a.m. on Christmas Eve and close again at 5 p.m., on Dec. 31. The center will re-open at 10 a.m., Jan. 2 and close at 5 p. m. on New Year’s Day.
